Week 2: Creating an Infographic

The task this week was to learn how to use Canva software by attempting to create an infographic of our own.  I enjoyed using Canva as it was very user-friendly and had plenty of useful options and features that were completely free to use.  I would recommend it to any person that is looking to start utilizing the power of infographics!

I am very interested in economics, specifically macroeconomic topics; therefore, I found a news article that discussed the impacts that economists are predicting climate change will have on the economy in the future.  The article addressed this topic by asking four major questions which I outlined in the infographic below.  There were not many statistics in the article so my infographic is really just trying to inspire the reader to think about the impact that their actions will have on future generations.

I chose a template that was already designed for a climate change topic so the design aspect was mostly done for me.  I added in small images to represent the main topic of each question/section.  I also summarized the main point of the discussion the author made underneath the heading.  Personally, I think this infographic could use some more images and graphs to really drive home how big of an impact climate change will have on the economy in the future, but I will just have to save that for next time!

I would hope that you got the exact same amount of information and knowledge from reading this short infographic that I got from reading an entire news article.  This goes to show once again the beauty and efficiency of infographics.

The following is the link to the article that I used as a source for this information:
