Week 2: Creating an Infographic

The task this week was to learn how to use Canva software by attempting to create an infographic of our own.  I enjoyed using Canva as it was very user-friendly and had plenty of useful options and features that were completely free to use.  I would recommend it to any person that is looking to start utilizing the power of infographics! I am very interested in economics, specifically macroeconomic topics; therefore, I found a news article that discussed the impacts that economists are predicting climate change will have on the economy in the future.  The article addressed this topic by asking four major questions which I outlined in the infographic below.  There were not many statistics in the article so my infographic is really just trying to inspire the reader to think about the impact that their actions will have on future generations. I chose a template that was already designed for a climate change topic so the design aspect was mostly done for me....

Week 1: The Importance of Infographics

My name is Ries McCue.  I am a junior at Benedictine University and I am double majoring in Business and Economics and Business Analytics.  I am a member of both the golf and lacrosse teams at Benedictine as well.  I am enrolled in a class where I will be learning all about infographics for the next 16 weeks.  I am very excited about what I am going to learn because I believe that infographics are the way of the future in so many different aspects.  The world is getting smaller and smaller with every single technological advancement.  People now have access to unfathomable amounts of data and they want to take in that data and analyze it as quickly as they can.  This is where infographics will play a pivotal role.
