Week 6: Potential Clients
This week I will be explaining the importance of focus in infographics and I will also start thinking about a few potential clients that I think I would be interested in creating infographics for. But first, I would like to provide a solution to an issue that I have had with my previous blog posts, and one that you guys could be experiencing when creating your own blog posts as well. I have had difficulties getting clear images placed in the blog. A simple solution to this is just converting the graphic into a PDF and then posting a link to it. To demonstrate the difference, I have posted a link to the infographic that I created last week, and the graphic is much clearer as you can see it in the original size. We have talked about the best practices and how to simplify infographics, but not we are going to emphasize the importance of focus. Infographics are supposed to relay information or data in a fast and effective manner. Keeping clutter out is easy, but figuring out what you actually want your reader to focus on and how you are going to convince them to do that is a little bit harder of a task.
Potential Clients:
Beach for Dogs is also a small start-up company based out of Naperville and Lemont. Beach is actually an acronym for Behavioral, Educational, And Coaching Health for dogs. My boyfriend manages one of the stores and is also very close to the owner. Given that this is a start-up, they need as many new clients as they can get, as well as many more new employees. I could create infographics for this purpose, or it could also be interesting to create a few infographics about simple dog training techniques. For example, I could make one on how to train your dog to sit, stay, shake, roll-over, or etc. Click Here to see an infographic that Beach for Dogs has already created to get a brief idea of the services they perform.

Potential Clients:
Ace Hardware is my reach company. My mom has worked in their corporate office for over 20 years and they have always been a rather successful company. I personally think that Ace is a great company and they have a great mission. I am not exactly sure what department they would need infographics created for but my mom works in the International department and it could be very interesting looking into creating infographics for another country.
2.) Thomas Pump Company
Thomas Pump Company is the company that my dad works for. It is a small family owned pump engineering and repair business. My grandpa owns it, three of my uncles work there and I have done some work for them over the summers at times. In my opinion, they have a lot of outdated systems and little to no marketing strategy at all. A lot of their business is gained through word of mouth and repeat customers, but I think it could be beneficial for them to begin branching out. They definitely need an updated website in which I could create a bunch of infographics explaining what it is that they do.
